Josh Blackburn and Ryan Lockett conquer the London to Brighton Off-Road Bike Ride

On 21st September, Josh Blackburn and Ryan Lockett, from TLC LIVE Online School, set off on an exhilarating challenge — the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Off-Road Bike Ride. This incredible 61-mile journey, taking them through rough terrain, steep climbs, and scenic routes, was not only a test of physical endurance but also a powerful act of charity. Their determination and community spirit paid off as they raised an impressive £720 for the British Heart Foundation.

The pair completed the ride in just under eight hours, pushing through tough trails and unpredictable weather conditions.  What started with a wet and muddy morning, turned into beautiful sunshine for the ride into Brighton, finishing alongside around 2,000 other riders ranging in age, fitness and equipment levels.

Reflecting on the challenge, Josh said, “The ride was tough but rewarding. Cycling has a way of bringing together a community of riders to complete the same event, but each person is facing their own challenge.  This is something we want our students at TLC LIVE Online School to take in to their day to day lives, where each person has their own goals and has their own educational journey to travel”

Both Josh and Ryan are strong believers in the impact physical activity has on both health and education, and this charity ride is another step in their ongoing efforts to raise the importance of this. Their success in the London to Brighton Off-Road Bike Ride not only highlights their determination but also shines a light on the importance of giving back and promoting a sense of community.

As Josh and Ryan return to their roles at TLC LIVE Online School, they carry with them a sense of accomplishment and pride in making a real difference. They are already thinking about their next adventure. Stay tuned to find out what the dynamic duo from TLC LIVE will tackle next, as they continue to blend passion, purpose, and perseverance in everything they do!
