Careers Guidance at TLC LIVE Online School
Empowering Ambitious Futures for All Students (Years 8–11)
At TLC LIVE Online School, we provide a comprehensive, and inclusive careers guidance programme that supports students from Year 8 to Year 11 (ages 12–16). Our offer ensures every student has access to accurate, up-to-date information to help them make informed decisions about a broad range of career pathways and fulfil their potential.
Key Features of Our Careers Programme
- Impartial and Inclusive: All guidance is free from gender, cultural or religious bias, ensuring students of all backgrounds and abilities see a full range of options available in wider society.
- Integrated Delivery: Careers education is embedded across PSHE lessons, mentor meetings, and scheduled events such as careers fairs and work experience. Teachers play a central role by providing tailored support and facilitating meaningful discussions around career planning.
- Progressive Learning Journey: From initial career exploration and self-assessment in early secondary years, through to CV writing, mock interviews and post-16 applications in Year 11, students receive age-appropriate and sequential guidance throughout their time at TLC LIVE.
- Practical Preparation: Students are supported with practical resources such as personal statement guides, CV templates, mock interview practice, and college/apprenticeship application support.
- Encouraging Aspirations: The programme encourages students to set goals, research options, and aim high, whether considering sixth form, college, apprenticeships or employment.
Our careers education programme is designed to expand pupils’ horizons, not limit them. Through access to real-world information, individual support, and structured learning, students are empowered to take confident next steps into further education, training, or work.
